St. George's is a member of the of American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Diocese ("ACROD") of the U.S.A., led by His Grace, Bishop Gregory of Nyssa, Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Historically, its' founders were of Eastern European ancestry and this is still reflected in current parishioners, but as time passes many other ethnic groups are represented in our parish and diocese makeup.
Our modern church complex conveniently located on Keyser Avenue near the Scranton border, is among the most beautiful in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the ACROD Diocese. This complex is serving the parish well and provides a strong base for our future here in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
St. George's is mainly an English services church with some use of church Slavonic on special occasions. We welcome new parishioners of all Orthodox backgrounds and also those non-Orthodox individuals and families seeking to explore the depth of the rich Christian faith as practiced since the time of Christ.
