The side altar to the left of the main altar is known as the Table of Oblation since this is where the bread and wine are prepared prior to the start of the Liturgy. An icon of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, preparing Himself to be offered on the Cross, is found here. The side altar to the right is used to keep the various liturgical books used in divine services. An icon of Melchisedek is found here. He was an Old Testament king who offered bread and wine to God in thanksgiving for a victory. He was a type of Christ foreshadowing the New Testament Priesthood.
